Badge printing
Scan, check, badge in hand
For trade fairs, conferences, and business events, you print badges directly from SimpleTicket. No external system is involved: the data from the ticket shop is the data on the badge.

Formats
Three types of badges, you choose
Whatever format you choose, we can supply the printers so that on the day itself, all you have to do is connect them.
A6 format
Print with a laser printer on (partially) pre-printed paper and place the badge in a plastic sleeve.
Dymo stickers
Print stickers in various sizes with the Dymo LabelWriter Wireless and stick them onto a pre-printed cardboard or plastic badge.
Expobadge
Print directly onto Expobadge badges, the format you know from many trade shows and conferences.
What is on the badge
Decide for yourself what you show.
In the check-in system, you use switches to set what appears on the badge and how it looks. You choose the paper size, font, and text color, and download a preview before the first participant checks in.
-
Barcode and vCard
Show the ticket barcode, or a vCard QR that allows participants to exchange contact information by scanning each other's badges.
-
Name, company and position
Choose whether the company name, job title, and ticket product appear, whether the surname is on a new line, and whether to show only the first letter of the first name.
-
Selected workshops
If workshops are reserved as a combi-ticket, you can have them listed on the badge.
-
Layout as desired
All capitals, text centered, and multiple copies per badge: you turn it on or off.

What is on your counter
A laptop, a scanner, and a printer: that’s all it is
For badge printing you pay a surcharge of €0.35 per ticket with the entrance scan option, on top of the standard rate per ticket. This also applies to free tickets. Materials and hardware are separate.
Standard equipment
The check-in system runs in the browser. You connect the barcode scanner via USB or Bluetooth.
We can supply printers
For A6, Dymo stickers, or Expobadge. You choose the size to be printed per counter.
Every desk has its own settings
For each check-in screen you set the printer, the format and the layout. That way the VIP desk can print something different from the regular desks.
From practice
How many desks do you need? We'll work it out with you
There is no fixed number. It depends on the format you print, what goes on the badge and, above all, when your participants arrive. For Maximum Potential by Michael Pilarczyk, a three-day congress with around 3,000 participants, we set it up like this:
-
Checking in at two moments
Participants could collect their badge the day before as well as on the morning of the start. That takes the peak off the first morning.
-
Separate desks for VIP guests
Of the fourteen desks, four were for VIP guests only, so that group did not have to wait in the regular queue.
-
Tailored to what the organiser wants
A different event calls for a different set-up. Beforehand we look with you at how your participants arrive and what you want to offer them.

Questions about badge printing
Can badges be printed in advance?
Badges are always printed on-site at the time of check-in. This ensures that the latest changes are always included and that nothing is printed for those who do not show up.
How much does badge printing cost?
For organizers using the badge printing module, a surcharge of €0.35 per ticket with the entry scan option applies, in addition to the base rate or the reduced rate. The surcharge also applies to tickets issued free of charge. A participant with a paid ticket and badge will then cost €1.00. Materials, printers, and laptops are separate from this. A lower surcharge may be possible for larger quantities.
Do I need to provide my own printers?
That is not necessary. We can supply the printers: laser printers for A6, Dymo printers for stickers, and printers for Expobadge. You can also use your own printers.
Can several desks work at the same time?
Yes. Each desk works with its own printer and its own format, and you set the options per check-in screen. How many desks you need depends on your event; we work that out with you beforehand.
What if the printer jams or the network drops?
If the printer jams, you check the paper and it carries on printing, or you press reprint. A network connection is always required, just as when scanning with the app: that way every desk works with the same, up-to-date data.
Do I need extra software?
For automatic printing, you install a small software plugin on the computer at the counter. The check-in system itself runs in the backoffice.
How many sessions fit on a badge?
A limited number, for example two, can be placed as text on the badge. Individual sessions are separate ticket products with their own ticket.
Is the check-in system available by default?
We will activate it for your account. Contact us, and we will take care of it.
